speeding ticket fines and community service
Well I got a ticket, the first in awhile. I was going through a school zone, very bad area to speed of course. Well this school zone had a photo radar, which I saw. When I hit the first 15 mph sign I was going 18 then hurrily slowed down to 15. By the time I hit the last sign a few yards ahead the van took a picture of me. This kind of annoyed me because I was going 15 through the whole thing, except the beginning of course. Then to get a ticket at the very end for going 3 over seemed ridiculous. So I decided to fight it in court. Well the court hearing was to be the day after New Years and I was going to be out of town. So I faxed in a request to have it changed for another day due to being out of town for the holiday. I didn't check to see if it was accepted, and just went on my trip. Well after I got home I found out it was denied and I needed have shown up to my hearing two days ago. Crap! So they decided that I missed my day in court and needed to pay my 200 dollars fine. But what really makes me happy is that I asked to do community service and it was accepted. 5 dollars and hour and 40 hours of service needs to be served. But what is the kicker is that I get to choose where I want to do my community service! It just so happens that my church calling can count as community service. So being in the nursery 2 hours every Sunday is completely acceptable! So I am so excited I saved 200 dollars! I think I am going to ask for community service every time! I probably will spend some hours working in the cannery or the church warehouse, just in case you are wondering. So I am just counting my blessing to be able to get off so easily!
